Wolfgang Wagner (30 August 1919 – 21 March 2010) was a German opera director. He is best known as the director (Festspielleiter) of the Bayreuth Festival , a position he initially assumed alongside his brother Wieland in 1951 until the latter's death in 1966.

Wolfgang Manfred Martin Wagner war ein deutscher Opernregisseur und Bühnenbildner. Bis 2008 leitete er die Bayreuther Festspiele. Er war das dritte Kind von Siegfried und Winifred Wagner, ein Enkel des Komponisten Richard Wagner und von Cosima von Bülow sowie ein Urenkel von deren Vater Franz Liszt.
Wolfgang Wagner, né le 30 août 1919 à Bayreuth et mort le 21 mars 2010 dans la même ville, est un metteur en scène allemand, directeur du Festival de Bayreuth de 1966 à 2008 .
Wolfgang Wagner studied Political Science, German Literature and Philosophy in Tübingen (Germany) and Yellow Springs, Ohio (USA). He holds a PhD from the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and taught at the universities of Tübingen, Frankfurt, Konstanz, Darmstadt and Mannheim.
