Volker Schlöndorff (* 31. März 1939 in Wiesbaden) ist ein deutscher Filmregisseur, Drehbuchautor und Filmproduzent, der vor allem für seine Literaturverfilmungen bekannt ist. 1980 wurde sein Spielfilm Die Blechtrommel mit dem Oscar in der Kategorie Bester fremdsprachiger Film ausgezeichnet.
Volker Schlöndorff is a German director, writer and producer who has worked with Louis Malle, Jean-Pierre Melville and Alain Resnais. He is best known for The Tin Drum, Young Törless, Diplomacy and Calm at Sea.
