River's End is a 1940 American Western film directed by Ray Enright and starring Dennis Morgan, Elizabeth Inglis and George Tobias. It is an adaptation of the 1919 novel The River's End by James Oliver Curwood which had previously been made into 1920 and 1930 films.

In River's End, Alberta, Canada, John Keith is tried for the murder of Roger Cass and sentenced to hang, although he swears his innocence. John escapes and heads into Canada's frozen north, planning to return when he finds out who framed him.

Convicted murderer John Keith (Dennis Morgan), escapes from his guards, and is pursued by Sergeant Conniston (Dennis Morgan, of the Royal Canadian Mouted Police. After a two year hunt, Conniston almost dies of the cold and is rescued by Keith.
Synopsis. Conniston goes into the Far North in search of Keith, who is wanted for murder; he gets his man, but on their return trip Conniston dies. MacDonald, Conniston's guide, takes a liking to Keith and suggests that since Keith resembles Conniston, he should pretend to be Conniston.
