Because the tassle is part of Ruth's green cloak, she is arrested for Duncan's murder, but her father hypnotizes the maid and unravels the truth. A tattoo similar to one on the maid's arm is discovered on the corpse's arm, and the maid confesses to belonging to the same Denver gang as the dead man.
