Biografia. Divenuto noto per essere stato membro del gruppo tedesco Can, Czukay viene considerato uno dei primi musicisti che tentarono di avvicinare la musica pop ( popular) a quella d'avanguardia. Le sue composizioni, generalmente suonate con il nastro magnetico, sono fortemente sperimentali ed anticipano la world music. [1] [3]

6 set 2017 · BERLIN (AP) — Holger Czukay, the co-founder and bassist of avant-garde band Can and a one-time student of composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, has been found dead. He was 79. News agency dpa reported that police in Euskirchen, near Cologne, said Wednesday Czukay’s body was found in an apartment in nearby Weilerswist.
