Charles Cotesworth Pinckney (February 25, 1746 – August 16, 1825) was an American statesman, military officer and Founding Father who served as United States Minister to France from 1796 to 1797.

20 giu 2016 · In 1798 President Adams, anticipating war with France, appointed Pinckney commander of the southern department of the United States Army. He was discharged from military service in 1800. Pinckney returned to politics in the election of 1800 as the Federalist Party’s vice-presidential candidate.
