John William Snow (born August 2, 1939) is an American economist, attorney, and businessman who is the former CEO of CSX Corporation and served as the 73rd United States secretary of the treasury under U.S. President George W. Bush.

John W. Snow was the 73rd Secretary of the Treasury serving from February 2003 until June 2006. He came to office following a recession, the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks, and the corporate scandals that produced the largest overhaul of corporate governance since the Securities Acts of the thirties.
John William Snow left CSX in January 2003 to become President George W. Bush’s second secretary of the treasury following the resignation of Paul O’Neill. He served in that capacity until 2006, when he resigned.
