Manuel Marín González (21 October 1949 – 4 December 2017) was a Spanish politician, former President of the Congress of Deputies of Spain. He was a long-time member of the European Commission , and acting president during the Santer Commission following the resignation of Jacques Santer .

The Spanish politician and former vice-president of the European Commission passed away in Madrid on the 4 th of December at the age of 68. He started his career in European politics, as State Secretary for Relations with the European Communities and was actively involved in Spain's admission to the European Communities.

Licenciado en Derecho por la Universidad de Madrid, hizo el doctorado en Derecho comunitario en la Universidad de Nancy (Francia) y se diplomó en Estudios Europeos por el Colegio de Europa en Brujas (Bélgica), donde además fue profesor.
