Joanne Kate Swinson CBE FRSA (born 5 February 1980) is a Director of Partners for a New Economy and a British former politician who was Leader of the Liberal Democrats from July to December 2019. She was the first woman and the youngest person to hold the position, as well as the shortest-serving holder of the post.

23 lug 2019 · Jo Swinson has been elected leader of the Liberal Democrats. The former business minister beat rival Sir Ed Davey with 64% of members' votes in the race to take control of the pro-Remain party.
Jo Swinson has become the first female Liberal Democrat leader, after decisively beating Sir Ed Davey in a poll of party members. She won 47,997 votes, against her opponent's 28,021.
