Zhao Ziyang (趙紫陽 T, 赵紫阳 S, Zhào Zǐyáng P; Hua, 17 ottobre 1919 – Pechino, 17 gennaio 2005) è stato un politico cinese. Fu primo ministro dal 1980 al 1987 e segretario generale dal 1987 al 1989.
Zhao Ziyang (Chinese: 赵紫阳; pronounced [ʈʂâʊ tsɹ̩̀.jǎŋ], 17 October 1919 – 17 January 2005) was a Chinese politician. He was the premier of China from 1980 to 1987, vice chairman of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from 1981 to 1982, and CCP general secretary from 1987 to 1989.
赵紫阳于1980年中共十一届五中全会上当选 中共中央政治局常委 ，在1981年中共十一届六中全会上当选 中共中央副主席 。 先后担任 国务院总理 和 中共中央总书记 ，成为中共第二代领导集体的核心成员之一 [15] 。 在任期间，他参与启动和领导的改革运动为 中国大陆 从 计划经济 转变为全球性的 市场经济 奠定了基础 [16] 。 除大力发展市场经济外，他还积极提出并设计政治体制改革方案，推进 改革开放 的深化，曾一度被认为是 邓小平 的接班人 [17] 。
