Tyrgils Knutsson till Aranäs (även Torgils, Torkel och latin:Thyrgillvs eller Tyrgillum Canuti), riddare, svenskt riksråd, drots och marsk, död 1306 i Stockholm genom avrättning, Sveriges verklige styresman under Birger Magnussons omyndighet. Han var Viborgs grundare.
Torkel (Tyrgils or Torgils) Knutsson (died 1306) was Lord High Constable of Sweden, member of the Privy Council of Sweden (Riksråd), and virtual ruler of Sweden during the early reign of King Birger Magnusson (1280–1321).

Torgils Knutsson was an influential and powerful man in Sweden during the 13th and early 14th centuries. Under his command, the Swedish army won many victories. His ambition and thirst for power made him many enemies, which eventually led to his death.
In 1293 Torgils Knutsson launched an expedition in an attempt to conquer all of Karelia and built a fortress in Viipuri. The war lasted until 1323, when the Treaty of Pähkinäsaari (Nöteborg; now Petrokrepost) drew the boundary between the Russian and Swedish spheres of influence in a….
