Muhammad ibn Idriss ash-Shafi'i. Abu 'Abdullah Muhammad ibn Idriss descended from the Hashimi family of the Quraysh tribe to which the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, belonged. He was born in Gaza, Palestine in 150H / 767CE, and became famous as Imam Ash-Shafi'i.
