Johann Reuchlin (German: [ˈjoːhan ˈʁɔʏçlɪn]; 29 January 1455 – 30 June 1522), sometimes called Johannes, was a German Catholic humanist and a scholar of Greek and Hebrew, whose work also took him to modern-day Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and France.
Umanista tedesco (Pforzheim 1455 - Bad Liebenzell, Württemberg, 1522). Dotato di cultura poliedrica e di carattere equilibrato e più che altro disposto a una grande apertura verso le innovazioni nel campo degli studi esegetici e linguistici, R. divenne il caposcuola dell'umanesimo tedesco.
4 apr 2024 · Johannes Reuchlin (born Feb. 22, 1455, Pforzheim, Württemberg [Germany]—died June 6, 1522, Bad Liebenzell) was a German humanist, political counselor, and classics scholar whose defense of Hebrew literature helped awaken liberal intellectual forces in the years immediately preceding the Reformation.
Umanista, nato il 24 febbraio 1455 a Pforzheim, morto a Bad Liebenzell il 30 giugno 1522. Studiò a Friburgo in Brisgovia, poi seguì un figlio del margravio di Baden a Parigi, ove continuò gli studî letterarî, incominciando quello del greco. In seguito studiò a Basilea, ove divenne baccelliere nel 1475 e maestro nel 1477.
