Sir Simon Kirwan Donaldson FRS (born 20 August 1957) is an English mathematician known for his work on the topology of smooth (differentiable) four-dimensional manifolds, Donaldson–Thomas theory, and his contributions to Kähler geometry.

Simon Donaldson (born August 20, 1957, Cambridge, England) is a British mathematician who was awarded the Fields Medal in 1986 for his work in topology. Donaldson attended Pembroke College, Cambridge (B.A., 1979), and Worcester College, Oxford (Ph.D., 1983).
