Weierstrass Karl Theodor Wilhelm (Ostenfelde, Münster, 1815 - Berlino 1897) matematico tedesco, considerato il fondatore dell’analisi moderna. Destinato dal padre alla carriera di funzionario statale, a 19 anni iniziò a frequentare i corsi di legge, economia e finanza presso l’università di Bonn, che abbandonò dopo quattro anni.
