Sir Salvador Enrique Moncada Seidner, FRS, FRCP, FMedSci (born 3 December 1944) is a Honduran-British pharmacologist and professor. He is currently Research Domain Director for Cancer at the University of Manchester.
Salvador Moncada is a renowned pharmacologist and medical scientist who discovered prostacyclin, nitric oxide and their roles in vascular biology and inflammation. He also developed drugs to treat various conditions and received many scientific honours and awards.

He described the structure of prostacyclin, which acts as an effective vasodilator and also prevents blood platelets from clumping.
Salvador Moncada is a Honduran-born biomedical researcher who has made significant contributions to the fields of prostaglandins, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. He has received many honors, awards, and distinguished lectures, and is a member of several academic societies and institutions.

Salvador Moncada is a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Science of the USA. He has received numerous international awards and honorary doctorates from more than 20 Universities around the world. He was acknowledged as the most cited UK scientist in biomedicine in the 1990s.
