Henry Briggs (1 February 1561 – 26 January 1630) was an English mathematician notable for changing the original logarithms invented by John Napier into common (base 10) logarithms, which are sometimes known as Briggsian logarithms in his honour.
Matematico (Warley Wood, Yorkshire, 1561 - Oxford 1630). Studiò a Cambridge e ivi insegnò fino al 1596; insegnò poi a Londra e a Oxford. Amico di Nepero, discusse con lui intorno alla costruzione delle tavole dei logaritmi a base 10, logaritmi che presero poi nome appunto da Briggs.

Matematico, nato a Warley Wood presso Halifax (Yorkshire) nel febbraio 1561, morto ad Oxford il 26 gennaio 1631. Studiò a Cambridge nel St. John's College nel 1577 e ivi insegnò fino al 1596. Dal 1596 al 1619 insegnò geometria a Londra nel Gresham College.
Henry Briggs nasce nel 1561 a Warley Wood, vicino Halifox. Nel 1596 divenne primo professore di geometria nel Gresham College di Londra facendolo diventare un centro primario della matematica inglese dell'epoca.
