Friedrich Wilhelm von Schadow (7 September 1789 – 19 March 1862) was a German Romantic painter . Biography. He was born in Berlin, the second son of the sculptor Johann Gottfried Schadow, [1] who gave him his first lessons in drawing. He then turned to painting, and was instructed by Weitsch. [2] In 1806-7 Schadow served as a soldier.

Friedrich Wilhelm Schadow was born in Berlin in 1788 to the celebrated sculptor Gottfried Schadow from whom he first received drawing lessons. He later turned to painting, and was instructed by the royal Prussian court painter Friedrich Georg Weitsch.
Friedrich Wilhelm von Schadow war ein deutscher Maler. Gemeinsam mit dem Nazarener Peter von Cornelius begründete er die Düsseldorfer Malerschule.
