Austin Osman Spare (30 December 1886 – 15 May 1956) was an English artist and occultist who worked as both a draughtsman and a painter. Influenced by symbolism and Art Nouveau, his art was known for its clear use of line, and its depiction of monstrous and sexual imagery.
Austin Osman Spare was a British artist whose technically proficient depictions of occult imagery were based in the aesthetics of Art Nouveau and the Symbolist movement. Spare’s work was intertwined with his belief in the Occult religion of Thelema, started by Aleister Crowley in the early 1900s.

Austin Osman Spare nacque a Londra e visse per la maggior parte della sua vita nella capitale inglese. Ad una età precoce entrò alla Accademia di Belle Arti di Londra e in breve venne salutato come un genio dalla critica artistica del tempo.
