Contrôleur général des Bâtiments, Arts et Manufactures de France 1613-1700. Roi des jardiniers et jardinier du roi, Le Nôtre donna ses lettres de noblesse au jardin « à la française ». Il fut l’auteur des plus beaux jardins du XVIIe siècle et fit de Versailles son chef-d’œuvre absolu.
