He published various works on Canadian exploration and natural history, verse, travel books, and fiction." [2]
Sir Charles G.D. Roberts was a poet who was the first to express the new national feeling aroused by the Canadian confederation of 1867. His example and counsel inspired a whole nationalist school of late 19th-century poets, the Confederation group.
