Eton College (/ ˈ iː t ən / ⓘ) is a public school (fee-charging and boarding for secondary school age boys) in Eton, Berkshire, England. It was founded in 1440 by Henry VI under the name Kynge's College of Our Ladye of Eton besyde Windesore , [4] [5] making it the 18th-oldest school in the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference (HMC).

Last year, Eton Connect coordinated activities for over 5,400 state school pupils, with over 2,000 pupils continuing to visit our museums and collections each year.
Eton College was founded in 1440 by Henry VI as “Kynge’s College of Our Ladye of Eton besyde Windesore”. Henry wanted his subjects to have the opportunities of gaining knowledge that he had enjoyed, and he made provision for 70 poor boys, known as King’s Scholars, to be housed and educated at Eton free of charge.
Eton College Chapel is the main chapel of Eton College, a public school in England . The chapel was planned to be a little over double its actual length, but this plan was never completed owing to the downfall of the founder Henry VI. A plaque on a building opposite the west end marks the point to which it should have reached. [1] .
