The supercontinent Pangaea in the early Mesozoic (at 200 Ma) Pangaea or Pangea (/ p æ n ˈ dʒ iː. ə /) was a supercontinent that existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras.

What was Pangea? From about 300-200 million years ago (late Paleozoic Era until the very late Triassic), the continent we now know as North America was contiguous with Africa, South America, and Europe.
