Set in the UK during the tumultuous summer of 1958, Summer Of Rockets follows Samuel Petrukhin, a Russian-born Jewish inventor and businessman, who specialises in manufacturing hearing aids.
BBC plot: Hannah arrives at Buckingham Palace, but is too late to be presented. Samuel meets two men who are interested in his invention, Denning and Mr Field. He learns that they are from MI5 and he is sworn to secrecy. The Petrukhins attend a fete at the Shaw's.
Overview. Samuel, a Russian-born Jewish inventor who specialises in the development of hearing aids, is tasked with a secret mission by MI5 to use his technological expertise to contribute to western Cold War efforts.
