Edmund Ludlow (born c. 1617, Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire, Eng.—died November 1692, Vevey, Switz.) was a radical republican who fought for Parliament against the Royalists in the English Civil Wars and later became one of the chief opponents of Oliver Cromwell’s Protectorate regime.

LUDLOW, Edmund Parlamentare inglese, nato circa il 1617, morto nel 1692. Nella guerra civile parteggiò dapprima per i realisti; ma col 1646 passò ai parlamentari, distinguendosi anzi poi per la sua intransigenza.
Uomo politico inglese (n. 1617 - m. Vevey, Svizzera, 1692). Nella guerra civile fu fin dagli inizî con i parlamentari (1642). Inviato in Irlanda (1651), condusse a termine la sottomissione dell'isola, ma poi, rifiutatosi di riconoscere il protettorato di Cromwell, fu arrestato (1655).
