Starachowice County (Polish: powiat starachowicki) is a unit of territorial administration and local government in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, south-central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998.

Starachowice [staraxɔˈvʲit͡sɛ] ⓘ is a city in southeastern Poland (historic Lesser Poland), with 49,513 inhabitants (31.12.2017). It is the capital of Starachowice County in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. It is situated upon the River Kamienna, a tributary of the Vistula River, among hills and forests.

Miasto położone jest na pograniczu Gór Świętokrzyskich i Przedgórza Iłżeckiego. Leży w dolinie rzeki Kamiennej i jest otoczone rozległymi lasami – pozostałością Puszczy Świętokrzyskiej.
