Palais Augarten is a Baroque palace in the district of Leopoldstadt, Vienna, Austria. Constructed in the late seventeenth century by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach on the site of a Jagdschloss and gardens, the palace and gardens were expanded in the nineteenth century under Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria .

A Dutch-style garden was built and the hunting castle expanded. Emperor Leopold I (1640-1705) purchased the adjacent Trautson gardens around 1660 and had the Trautson garden palace remodelled into a castle around 1677, which he then called "Imperial Favorita".
Joseph II opened the Augarten to the public in 1775 as the first imperial garden. In 1781, the emperor had the Josefstöckl by Isidore Ganneval (Canevale) and the Augarten Palace built on purchased land and landscaped garden sections laid out.
