Lady Margaret Hall is a pioneering Oxford University college. In October 1879 nine women arrived at LMH and became the first to receive an Oxford education. We admitted men in 1979 and, in 2016, became the first Oxbridge college to establish a Foundation Year for under-represented students. About us.
In 2022, Lady Margaret Hall was the first Oxford college to sign a government-backed pledge on ending non-disclosure agreements in cases of sexual misconduct. This followed reporting by The Times that eight female LMH students felt unsafe after the college's response to their complaints of student sexual violence between 2015 and 2021.
