The program, Korean Language Program (KLP) is designed for foreign nationals or overseas Koreans who want to learn Korean language from the bottom up and then enter a undergraduate or graduate school in Korea, or to improve the language proficiency for their business or employment.
The Korean Language Institute is designed to give students the chance to learn the Korean language and culture while enhancing their understanding about Korea. Yonsei University has been working towards this goal since its foundation in 1959 and has become one of the most important and useful institutes in the field.
Introduction. Description. ♦ Six-Step Regular Course. The course is divided into six levels and each level covers ten chapters. It will take about a year and a half to complete all the levels when you begin at the first one. ♦ Evaluation.
There are 6 modules in this course. This is an elementary-level Korean language course, consisting of 5 lessons with 4 units, and covers 4 skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The main topics include basic expressions used in everyday life, such as greetings, introducing yourself, talking about your family and a daily life and so on.

Korean Education Program. GLC freshmen must submit a Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) transcript or Yonsei University’s Korean Language Institute certificate or take the GLC’s own Korean Language Proficiency Assessment.
For students who are currently majoring in Korean Language or wants to intensively learn the Korean language. Students take the ‘Korean Language Program (four hours of classes a day, Monday through Friday, a total of 200 hours of classes a semester)’ and get 12 credits of courses.
