This is a fantastic album that takes a bunch of Brazilian bossanova and samba standards and with the use of the Hammond B-3 organ, gives them a new and exciting twist. The lineup is the classic trio: Goldings, Stewart, and Bernstein. I lost the insert to my copy, but I think that Joshua Redman plays sax and there's also a Brazilian percussionist.
21 ott 2006 · Goldings plays the organ in a laid-back Jimmy Smith style and that suits this excellent trio with Bernstein (guitar), Stewart (drums) and guest Joshua Redman (tenor on a few tracks). Musically this CD is not challenging for the listener, it's just very well played memorable bossa tunes from Jobim and Gilberto among others, in a laid ...
