Wong Kar-wai (born 17 July 1958) is a Hong Kong filmmaker. He has received awards and nominations from organisations around the world, recognising his achievements as a director, screenwriter, and producer.
Described in Slant Magazine as Wong's most accessible film since his debut, The Grandmaster won twelve Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Film and Best Director, and received two Academy Award nominations (Cinematography and Production Design).
