I fratelli Auguste Marie Louis Nicolas Lumière (Besançon, 19 ottobre 1862 – Lione, 10 aprile 1954) e Louis Jean Lumière (Besançon, 5 ottobre 1864 – Bandol, 6 giugno 1948) sono stati due imprenditori, cineasti e produttori francesi, inventori del cinématographe e dell'autochrome.
Una selezione di 114 film (di 50'' ciascuno) realizzata a partire dalle 1.422 vedute cinematografiche prodotte dalla Société Lumière fra il 1895 e il 1905. I film sono stati assemblati in un montaggio rappresentativo dei temi e dei soggetti affrontati da Louis Lumière e dai suoi operatori.
