Tharbis (alternatively Adoniah), according to Josephus, was a Cushite princess of the Kingdom of Kush, who married Moses prior to his marriage to Zipporah as told in the Book of Exodus.
17 nov 2022 · According to Josephus’s account of Tharbis, she was a princess of the Cushites who saw Moses prevail in battle and fell head over heels for him. They are soon married. This apparently happens when Moses still lives in Egypt (before he flees to Midian and marries Zipporah).

Moses then left the Ethiopians after forty years of ruler-ship (Jasher 76:5-12). Then at the age of sixty-six he went to the land of Midian and married Zipporah the Midianite.

17 feb 2021 · Josephus recorded an account of Moses serving as a commander in the Egyptian military, and leading a campaign to repel an Ethiopian invasion. During this campaign, Moses married an Ethiopian princess, identified as Tharbis.
So Moses was in reality married to two women, the Ethiopian Princess “Tharbis” and the Midianite Princess “Zipporah”. While these anecdotes are not in the Bible itself, the authority for their truth is based on the historical records of the Jewish writers and Roman historians and at least one of the Church Fathers, Ireneus.
