Holloway Road is a road in London, 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) in length. It is one of the main shopping streets in North London, and carries the A1 road as it passes through Holloway, in the London Borough of Islington.
Holloway is an area of north London in the London Borough of Islington, England, 3.3 miles (5.3 km) north of Charing Cross, which follows the line of the Holloway Road ( A1 ). At the centre of Holloway is the Nag's Head commercial area which sits between the more residential Upper Holloway and Lower Holloway neighbourhoods.

Although, Holloway Road today boasts mixed communities and cultures, builders’ caffs, trendy shops and great food. What it lacks in leafy scenery, it makes up for in cool spots.
A major north London thoroughfare (and the capital’s first red route), running north-westward from Highbury Corner to Archway. The Holloway district takes its name from the road, which was known as the ‘hollow way’ (the road in a hollow) by the early 14th century, when it had become the City’s main route to the north.
