Plot. Major James Prentis is a British spy of World War II and war hero who goes under the code name of "Shuttlecock". Alienated from his family and children, he ends up in a mental institution in Lisbon, Portugal, where he eventually decides to publish his memoirs 20 years after the war.

Synopsis by Clarke Fountain. From her vantage point as a neighbor, nightclub singer Lina (Liane Hielscher) observes and comments (through her act) on the complex tangle of romantic attractions which center on the offices of a psychiatrist (Christian Phillips) who lives and works in the hothouse climate of Southern California.
