Clifford Charles Arquette (December 28, 1905 – September 23, 1974) was an American actor and comedian. He was best known for performing comedic routines as his alter-ego Charley Weaver on numerous television and radio shows.
Arquette's paternal grandfather was comedian Cliff Arquette. Arquette's mother was Jewish (from a family that emigrated from Poland) while his father was a convert from Roman Catholicism to Islam; through him, David is distantly related to explorer Meriwether Lewis.
