David Crane (born August 13, 1957) is an American writer and producer. He is best known as one of the co-creators of the television sitcoms Friends and Episodes . Early life. Crane was born [1] [2] in West New York, New Jersey, the son of Joan Crane and veteran Philadelphia television personality Gene Crane.

She is best known as the co-creator of the NBC sitcom Friends with her longtime friend, David Crane; Crane and Kauffman similarly were in a friend group with four other people. Both Kauffman and Crane were also executive producers of the show, along with Kevin Bright.
