The Directorial system is a system of government in which executive power is held by a group of people who operate under a system of collegiality. While there may be a nominal leader, the post is considered to be ceremonial or a first among equals and it typically rotates among its members.
It may have a presidential system (Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, or the United States), a semi-presidential system (France, or Portugal), a parliamentary system (Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, or New Zealand) or directorial system.
In mixed republican systems and directorial republican systems, the head of government also serves as head of state and is usually titled president. In some full parliamentary systems, the head of state is directly elected by voters.
