Glenda Veronica "Glenn" Close (born March 19, 1947) is an American actress. In a career spanning over five decades of screen and stage, she has received numerous accolades, including three Primetime Emmy Awards, three Tony Awards and three Golden Globe Awards, in addition to nominations for eight Academy Awards and three Grammy Awards.
Glenn Close is an American actress, screenwriter and film producer with an extensive career in film, television, and stage. She began her professional career on stage in 1974 with Love for Love and was mostly a New York stage actress until the early 1980s.
Close had her claim to fame in the 1980s. Close starred on the hit Drama series Damages (2007) for which she has won a Golden Globe Award and two Emmy Awards. In her career Close has been Oscar nominated eight times, won three Tonys, an Obie, three Emmys, two Golden Globes and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
