Jay Oliva (born 1976) is an American film director, producer, and storyboard artist working at Los Angeles –based animation studio Lex+Otis. Career. Oliva first started in animation as a cleanup artist for the animated Fox TV series Spider-Man in 1996, where he eventually started his career as a storyboard artist.

In May 2018 Netflix reach out to Jay Oliva, who was based in the United States at the time, to work with a potential Trese animated series. Oliva accepted the role to be Trese's director a month later. A copy of the Trese comics was sent to Oliva, who started working on the series while in his flight to Manila from the United States.
The film is directed by Jay Oliva, and stars the voices of Matt Ryan, Jason O'Mara, Camilla Luddington, Nicholas Turturro, and Ray Chase. It is the first Justice League film and the second DC Universe animated film and the second film by Warner Bros. Animation to be rated R by the MPAA for some disturbing violence.
17 giu 2021 · In his previous work with DC, Oliva built on characters that had already been adapted, and even explored live-action storyboarding. In 2013, Oliva collaborated with Snyder to storyboard his first live-action feature film, which was none other than Man of Steel, and went on to work as the storyboard artist for Snyder’s other DCEU films: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.
