Ranil Wickremesinghe (born March 24, 1949) is a Sri Lankan politician who is the 9th and current President of Sri Lanka. He also holds several ministerial positions, including the Minister of Finance, Minister of Defence, Minister of Technology and Minister of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment.

Biografia. Dal 1994 è membro del Partito Nazionale Unito e parlamentare per il distretto di Colombo dal 1977. È inoltre a capo dello United National Front . In passato ricoprì la carica di ministro in quattro differenti ministeri.
