Silver Street is located in the southwest of central Cambridge, England. [1] [2] It links Queen's Road to the west with Trumpington Street to the east. The road continues west out of central Cambridge as Sidgwick Avenue.
Silver Street Bridge, or Small Bridge, was built in 1841 of cast-iron, brick and stone in replacement of one described as dilapidated in 1836. The total cost was £19,56. In 1913 a survey revealed that it was unsafe for heavy loads. It was further weakened by the floods of 1947.
