26 ago 2009 · The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools is a Catholic religious order founded by Jean-Baptiste de La Salle in France in 1680. In Canada, members are generally referred to as Christian Brothers or De La Salle Brothers.
Together with these teachers, De La Salle founded a lay community which took the name of Brothers of the Christian Schools (1680). He then realised that God had led him to undertake something quite unforseen, namely the initiation of a new kind of consecrated life, that of Religious Brothers.
