Shelly Berg. Shelton "Shelly" Glen Berg (born August 18, 1955) is an American classical and jazz pianist and music educator. He is the dean of the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida and the school's Patricia L. Frost Professor of Music.
Shelly Berg is a Steinway piano artist and multi-Grammy nominated arranger and producer. His newest album Alegría will be recorded with bassist Carlitos Del Puerto and drummer Dafnis Prieto and released in June 2024 through ArtistShare .

A lauded pianist, Shelly Berg is a gifted, classically trained performer and jazz soloist known for his own straight-ahead trio work and collaborations with a list of name performers. On his own, he has issued a handful of highly regarded jazz albums, including 1997's Will: A Tribute to Oscar Peterson and 2017's The Deep with bassist David Finck .
Shelly Berg is the International Association of Jazz Educators president and a teacher. However, his incredible piano playing has been mostly overlooked because he doesn’t record often enough. Shelly Berg was inspired by Jay Berg, his father as a trumpeter, and was accepted to the Cleveland Institute of Music at six years old.
