There are nine boys' boarding houses at Uppingham, informally split into three groups: The 'Hill Houses' are Brooklands, Fircroft and Highfield (1863); The 'Town Houses' are School House, Lorne House, West Deyne (1859) and West Bank (1866); The 'Country Houses' are Meadhurst and Farleigh.

Oakham School is a public school (English fee-charging boarding and day school) in Oakham, Rutland, England. The school was founded in 1584 by Archdeacon Robert Johnson, along with Uppingham School, a few miles away.

Uppingham Theatre is a flourishing professionally equipped 300-seat theatre, with a stylish adjoining Drama complex with an 80-seat ‘black box’ studio, workshops, classrooms and offices. Major school productions open to all pupils are staged annually, including the recent original production of Manderley, based on Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca.
The Day House is opening in September 2024. Our architects are sensitively remodelling a beautiful Seventeenth Century Manor House to meet the needs of our Twenty-First Century pupils. Lorne House is one of the four ‘town houses’, situated on the High Street close to the main school. It was formerly an academy for young ladies, but in 1855 became the first of the new houses in Uppingham’s rapid expansion.
