Tahiti ( AFI: /taˈi:ti/ [2] ), anche nota con il nome di Nuova Citera, è la più grande isola nel gruppo delle Isole del Vento della Polinesia Francese situata nell' arcipelago delle Isole della Società, nell' oceano Pacifico meridionale.
Tahiti da un punto di vista politico fa parte della Polinesia Francese, anzi per essere più precisi, Tahiti in realtà viene compresa nel gruppo delle isole del Vento, nel quale viene compresa anche l'isola di Bora Bora.
