Lotus Group is composed of three primary entities. Lotus Cars, a high-performance sports car company, is based in Hethel, Norfolk.
Hethel is a small village in the civil parish of Bracon Ash, in the South Norfolk district, in Norfolk, England, approximately five miles (8.0 km) southeast of the market town of Wymondham, and approximately ten miles (16 km) south of the city of Norwich. In 1931 the parish had a population of 118. [1]

Since its foundation in 1966, the Lotus Hethel factory has represented the very best of British manufacturing. The Hethel site is renown worldwide for having produced some of the most iconic cars in history, with an artisanal approach to engineering which continues to this day.
The Lotus Excel (Type 89) is a sports car designed and built by British automobile manufacturer Lotus Cars from 1982 to 1992. It is based on the design of the earlier Lotus Eclat , which itself was based on the earlier Lotus Type 75 Elite .
