Paul Winter è un sassofonista, compositore e musicista statunitense. Con i suoi strumenti, il sassofono alto e soprano, è da decenni protagonista della fusione stilistica del jazz, dal fusion alla new Age, e vincitore per sei volte il Grammy Award.
Paul Winter (born August 31, 1939) is an American saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. He is a pioneer of world music and earth music, which interweaves the voices of the wild with instrumental voices from classical, jazz and world music.
Brazilian guitar, Afro-Brazilian percussion, and the symphonic music of Villa-Lobos inspired the aural-vision of the new ensemble he would call the Paul Winter Consort. Launched in 1967, the Consort became the forum for the whole world of diverse music that Paul loved.

Paul Winter was born August 31, 1939 in Altoona (Pennsylvania) and is an American saxophonist (alto u0026 soprano). The Intercollegiate Jazz Festival was won by the Paul Winter Sextet while Winter was at Northwestern University. Columbia Records signed the group.
