The Knife were a Swedish electronic music duo from Gothenburg, formed in 1999. The group consisted of siblings Karin and Olof Dreijer, who together also run their own record company, Rabid Records. They gained a large international following in response to their 2003 album Deep Cuts .
Musically, The Knife reaches out in many directions. Sometimes the production’s interlocking rhythms and shifting zones make way for industrial textures (“I Take Time”), the whisper of a panpipe (“I Just Had To Die”) or a sleepy saxophone (“Neon”).
The Knife are 20 in 2020. To commemorate the release of our first 7" back on August 14, 2000, we have made our full catalogue available on streaming services and digital stores through our label Rabid Records. This includes our soundtrack to the Swedish film Hannah Med H and Live At Terminal 5.
