Gordonstoun is one of the leading full boarding schools in the UK. Our buildings are set within a safe and beautiful 200 acre wooded campus, within walking distance of the expansive beaches of the Moray Firth, and within easy reach of the stunning Scottish Highlands.
Gordonstoun School is a co-educational independent school for boarding and day pupils in Moray, Scotland. It is named after the 150-acre (60-hectare) estate owned by Sir Robert Gordon in the 17th century; the school now uses this estate as its campus.
Gordonstoun is one of the few remaining genuinely full boarding schools in the UK. Being a full boarding school allows us to focus on providing pupils with a stimulating, challenging and exciting range of lessons and activities seven days a week.
Gordonstoun, the Moray boarding school which inspired the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, supports a call for at least one week of residential outdoor education to be compulsory in all Scottish schools. A formal consultation opened today on a Member’s Bill put forward by Liz Smith MSP which would place a requirement on all local authority

The school is situated on the coast of Scotland and makes the most of all the opportunities this area offers for outdoor adventure.
23 mag 2024 · The ‘physical heart’ of the school is Gordonstoun House which is not only an administrative hub but also a boarding house for senior boys. There are seven further boarding houses – three for girls and four for boys – and the Junior School.
